The first concrete pump was invented in 1913 in the United States of America. And the first example was made in Germany in 1927. Fritzgel and Mark Gies decided to deliver the concrete mixture to a height of 30 cubic meters directly from the concrete mixer when constructing the marine monument. However, concrete pumps became popular after the end of World War II.

The peak use of concrete pumps began in the 1950s. Friedrich Schwing succeeded in building a hydraulic pump with two cylinders for pumping concrete. He also registered the rock valve, which is used in most concrete pumps today.

A concrete pump is a device for transferring concrete, which is used in construction environments and cases where concrete needs to be pumped in height and length. The concrete pump device performs the transfer and concreting work through pumping. Using a concrete pump is a suitable method for concreting in limited spaces such as tunnels or out of reach. For this purpose, it is better for concrete to have high efficiency and fluidity with a slump of 75 to 125 mm. Concrete that is poured with a concrete pump will not have a problem called segregation, because the pump does not have the ability to move concrete that has separated.
